【摘要】:Thistestmethodisintendedtomeasurevolatileorganiccompoundsthatareemittedfrompackagingmaterialsunderhigh-temperatureconditions.Thistestmethodmaybeusefulinassistinginthedevelopmentandmanufactureofpackagingmaterialshavingminimalretainedpackagingink/adhesivesolvents.ModificationofthisprocedurebyutilizingappropriatequalitativeGCdetectiondevicessuchasamassspectrometerinplaceoftheflameionizationdetectormayprovideidentificationofvolatileorganicsofunknownidentity.1.1ThistestmethodcoversdeterminationoftheamountofresidualsolventsreleasedfromwithinapackagingmaterialcontainedinasealedvialunderagivensetoftimeandtemperatureconditionsandisarecommendedalternativeforTestMethodF151.1.2Thistestmethodcoversaprocedureforquantitatingvolatilecompoundswhoseidentityhasbeenestablishedandwhichareretainedinpackagingmaterials.1.3Theanalystshoulddeterminethesensitivityandreproducibilityofthemethodbycarryingoutappropriatestudiesonthesolventsofinterest.TheanalystisreferredtoPracticeE260forguidance.1.4Forpurposesofverifyingtheidentityoforidentifyingunknownvolatilecompoundstheanalystisencouragedtoincorporatetechniquessuchasgaschromatography/massspectroscopy,gaschromatography/infraredspectroscopyorothersuitabletechniquesinconjunctionwiththistestmethod.1.5Sensitivityofthistestmethodinthedeterminationoftheconcentrationofagivenretainedsolventmustbedeterminedonacasebycasebasisduetothevariationinthesubstrate/solventinteractionbetweendifferenttypesofsamples.1.6Thistestmethoddoesnotaddressthedeterminationoftotalretainedsolventsinapackagingmaterial.Techniquessuchasmultipleheadspaceextractioncanbeemployedtothisend.TheanalystisreferredtothemanualsuppliedwiththeGC-Autosamplingsystemforguidance.1.7ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.1.8Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.

【摘要】:Asoilsamplingandanalysisprogramprovidesadirectmeansofdeterminingtheconcentrationanddistributionofradionuclidesinsoil.Thepresenceandextentofneptunium-237isofparticularinterestbecauseitisoneofthemoremobiletransuranicsintermsofmigrationandplantuptake.Sincesoilisanintegratorandareservoironlong-livedradionuclides,andservesasanintermediaryinseveralpathwaysofpotentialimportancetohumans,knowledgeoftheconcentrationofneptunium-237insoilisessential.1.1Thisguidecoversthedeterminationofneptunium-237insoilbymeansofradiochemicalseparationsandalphaspectrometry.Thisguideprovidesoptionsintheselectionofsamplepreparation,separation,andmeasurement.Althoughneptunium-237isnotacomponentofglobalfallout,itisaproductofproductionreactorsandspentfuelprocessing.ThisguideisdesignedforanalysisoftengramsofsoilpreviouslycollectedandtreatedinaccordancewithPracticesC998andC999.Larger-sizesamplesofenvironmentalsoilmayalsobeanalyzed,aslongastheconcentrationsofinterferencessuchasuraniumandthoriumareatornearenvironmentalconcentrations.Dependingonthechoiceofasampledissolutionmethod,allchemicalformsofneptuniummaynotbecompletelysolubilized.Thisguideshouldallowthedeterminationofneptunium-237concentrationsfromsubbecquerelpergramlevelstoapplicablestandardsdependingoncounttime,samplesize,detectorefficiency,background,andtraceryield.1.2Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SpecificprecautionarystatementsaregiveninSection8.
