【摘要】:Acidetchdamageisanimportantwarrantyclaimitemforautomotivecompanies.Asaresult,acidetchresistanceisanimportantparameterforautomotiveexteriorcoatings.ThemethoddescribedinthistestmethodhasbeenshowntosimulateacidetchdamageofautomotiveclearcoatsthatoccurswhensuchcoatingsareexposedfromMaythroughmid-AugustinJacksonville,FL.3,5Theacceleratedtestdescribedinthisstandardallowsyear-roundtestingasopposedtothelimitedoutdoorexposuretimeavailablefortheJacksonville,FLexposures.1.1ThistestmethodcoversanacceleratedexposuretestintendedtosimulatedefectsinautomotiveclearcoatscausedbyacidrainthatoccurattheJacksonville,Floridaexposuresite.ExteriorexposuresatanacidraintestlocationinJacksonville,Floridaproduceetchdefectsthatrangefromsmallpitsto12.7mm(0.5in.)indiameterorlargeracid-etchedspots.Thelattertypeofdefectisnotproducedinotheracid-etchteststhatonlyproducepitsthataresmallerthan6.35mm(0.25in.)indiameter.Note1Digitalimagesoftheacidetchdefectsproducedinoutdooracid-rainexposuresandintheacceleratedtestdescribedinthistestmethodarefoundinAppendixX1.1.2Theacceleratedtestdescribedinthistestmethodusesaxenon-arclightsourcewithdaylightfilterconformingtotherequirementsofPracticeG155.Specimensaresprayedwithasimulatedacidrainsolutionandrequirestheuseofahorizontal,flatspecimenarrayinordertoallowtheacidrainsolutiontoremainonthetestspecimensforanextendedperiodoftime.1.3ThereisnoknownISOequivalenttothistestmethod.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
